How to Request Account Deletion

To request that your Beacon account and associated data be permanently deleted, follow these steps:

Send an email to beaconmessengerapp@gmail.com from the email address associated with your Beacon account.
Use the subject line: Account Deletion Request
Include your Beacon username (if you remember it) to help us locate your account.
We will confirm your identity and process your request within 14 business days.

Data That Will Be Deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the following data:

Data Type	Description
Account information	Email address, username
Profile data	Home Castle location (if set), friend list
Beacon history	All beacons you lit or responded to
Push token	Device notification token
In-app notifications	Notification history

Data Retention

Deletion timeline: Your data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days of processing your request.

Backups: Data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being overwritten.

Third-party services: Firebase (our backend provider) may retain anonymized or aggregated data per their policies; we do not retain personal data after deletion.

Data We Cannot Delete

Data already shared: If you shared your location with friends via a beacon, those friends may have seen it at the time. We cannot remove information they may have retained.
Anonymized analytics: Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics may be retained for product improvement.

Alternative: Delete From the App

You can also delete your account directly in the Beacon app: open Settings → Delete Account. This triggers the same deletion process.
